Rapsodine - Swedish organic skin care since 1990
We are a small-scale family business driven by a vision to contribute to a more sustainable society through Swedish organic skin care that takes responsibility for both people and the environment. For over 30 years, we have manufactured natural, organic and vegan skin and hair care products in our own factory in Mariestad, Sweden.
Rapsodine started from a desire to create a product from the good harvest, based on Swedish rapeseed oil. In Mariestad by Lake Vänern, where yellow rapeseed fields meet sparkling water, we created our first product Rapsodine Moisturizing cream based on that desire. Even today, it is our bestseller and all manufacturing still take place in Mariestad.
Organic skin care based on Swedish rapeseed oil for the whole family
Today, we have a wide range of organic skin and hair care products for the whole family. All based on Swedish, cold-pressed and organic rapeseed oil. There are many reasons why rapeseed oil, often called Sweden's gold, forms the basis of all our products. A big reason from a sustainability aspect is that rapeseed is grown in large scale in the northern parts of Europe and thus more locally produced. It also has fantastic skin care properties. Rapeseed oil is easily absorbed by the skin, moisturizes and adds nutrients, vitamins and healthy fatty acids. In addition, it contains vitamin E and phytosterols, which can have an anti-inflammatory and protective effect on the skin.
Magnificence in all its simplicity
In everything we do, we start from our idea of grandeur in all its simplicity. We think organic skin care of the highest quality should be natural and for everyone. That's why we make natural products with as few ingredients as possible for the whole family. We source our raw materials from nearby nature and call our products what they actually are. In our range you will also find many unscented options. Our products are also affordable and last a long time. This allows products to be shared between several family members, which reduces purchases and thus the climate footprint. Of course, all our products are 100% vegan.
Durability throughout the product cycle
Our commitment to sustainability has been with us from the beginning and it is important to take responsibility throughout the entire product chain. Since all manufacturing takes place in our own factory, we can ensure quality and durability at all stages. Through our own factory production, we can also make use of all production waste and sell second-hand sorting in our factory store.
But for us, the sustainability work does not end once the product has been purchased by the consumer. Our goal is to offer a completely circular product. An example of steps we have taken towards that goal is that we, as the first Swedish skin and hair care brand, sell Rapsodine completely packaging-free through our refill station in Mariestad. We were also the first Swedish cosmetic product to be sold as a refill in other packaging-free stores in Sweden.
Sustainable collaborations make us stronger together
We mainly collaborate with other small-scale companies that also put sustainability first. Local collaborations are prioritized so that we can reduce our emissions from transport while also benefiting the local business community and the labor market.
