Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Certification & Content
Are your products organically certified?
Rapsodine’s products are not certified by external certification bodies such as EcoCert, NaTrue or COSMOS. However, the majority of our raw materials are certified according to Eco/COSMOS standards.
We have chosen not to certify the entire range since multiple parallel standards with different criteria exist, and certification entails significant administrative and financial costs – particularly for a small-scale manufacturing company.
Our internal guidelines follow established certification requirements:
The percentage of natural and organic content is stated for each product.
Are your products vegan?
Yes. All our products are 100% vegan and contain no ingredients of animal origin, such as lanolin or beeswax.
Are your products tested on animals?
No. Animal testing for cosmetics has been prohibited in the EU since 2004.
Our products undergo safety testing through laboratory tests and voluntary test subjects via independent, accredited laboratories.
Do your products contain microplastics?
No. All our products are free from microplastics. Our sugar scrub uses sugar as a natural exfoliating ingredient.
Do your products contain mineral oils?
No. Our products are based on vegetable oils and plant extracts.
Do your products contain PFAS?
No. Our products do not contain PFAS.
Do your products contain preservatives?

The following products contain no preservatives as they do not contain water:
Body Oil, Massage Oil, Shower Oil, Intimate Shower Oil, Hair Oil, Nail Drops, Lip Balm and Sugar Scrub.
Our products do not contain parabens or phenoxyethanol.

If you want to be sure that the product you are about to order does not contain phenoxyethanol, please email us before ordering at kundtjanst@rapsodine.se
Do your products contain palm oil?
We do not add pure palm oil. Some raw materials may contain palm-derived ingredients. In such cases, we require the palm oil to be RSPO-certified (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil), ensuring more responsible production.
Do your products contain sulfates (SLS/SLES)?
No, we do not use Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) or Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES).
Our yellow hair and shower range uses Sodium Coco Sulfate (SCS), an Eco/COSMOS-approved surfactant.
The white range is completely sulfate-free and based on milder surfactants.
Please note that sulfate-free shampoos may have more difficulty removing styling products containing silicones.
Please note! We have previously used SLS/SLES in our products so there may still be products in stock with us and our retailers that contain this substance. If you want to be sure that the product you are about to order does not contain SLS/SLES, please email us before ordering at kundtjanst@rapsodine.se
Do your products contain citric acid?
In our shower products and soaps, we use lactic acid (Lactic Acid) to adjust the pH level.
In some products in our home care range, citric acid is used for pH adjustment.
Does the deodorant contain aluminium?
No. It is free from aluminium, parabens, synthetic preservatives and synthetic fragrances.
What types of fragrances do you use?
We primarily scent our products with essential oils (e.g. lavender, orange, palmarosa and kunzea) and natural fragrance compositions derived from plants.
In two products (Moisturising Cream and Body Lotion with Honeysuckle fragrance), we use an synthetic fragrance with few allergens.
Raw Materials & Quality
Why do the colour and scent of the products vary?
Our products are based on organic, cold-pressed Swedish rapeseed oil.
Cold pressing means the rapeseed is gently pressed at a temperature not exceeding 35°C. This preserves vitamins, minerals and antioxidants – but also means that the oil’s natural colour and scent may vary depending on harvest and weather conditions.
This is a sign of a living, natural raw material – not a quality defect.
What is the shelf life of your products?
Unopened products have a shelf life of 30–36 months from the date of manufacture.
After opening: see the symbol on the packaging (usually 12M).
Oil-based products (e.g. Massage Oil, Body Oil, Sugar Scrub) have a shelf life of 6 months after opening.
The manufacturing date can be traced via the batch number – please contact us if you are unsure.
